Mean Girls Drinking Game

Hello again, to anyone whose been reading my blog. Well, it's been a while since I've posted, since my nice little home-town is rather boring. But, I've been keeping busy. My summer job is starting (I work at a theatre camp and choreograph a children's musical) and I have actually managed to find a few good parties near home (sketchy parties, but parties none-the-less.) The most interesting party perhaps, was the Memorial Day picnic so huge that the guy throwing the party sent a shuttle every half hour to the local train station to pick up and drop off strangers, I kid you not. Well back to the point, I have not really done anything blog worthy, and my exciting weekend plans for this upcoming weekend to visit my college friends in NJ fell through, so I figured I'd keep you all up to date with another old movie drinking game we played at school this year. (I promise this blog will eventually have more than just movie drinking games, but until my summer gets more interesting this is all I have to share) So here it is, the Mean Girls Drinking Game! I found a couple different versions of this online that I liked but they were both too light, so I combined some of the rules to make it a little crazier, so here is the version my friends and I played.

Drink every time...

Cady talks about Africa or the animal world. (a.k.a. any jungle madness scene)
The "Burn Book" is shown or mentioned
Someone says "Fetch!"
Regina scolds anyone
Someone does math
The "Plastics" are mentioned as a group
Coach Carr is shown or mentioned
They allude to Janice being a lesbian (even if she cuts them off)
You see Cady's parents
They mention being hit by a bus, or almost get hit by a bus, or get hit by a bus
There is a 3-way (or 4-way) calling attack
Cady does something mean to Regina
They succeed in completing one of their three goals (to bring Regina down)
Cady and Aaron kiss

and as always, here are the originals for you, lazydork.com and barmeister.com

Mamma Mia Drinking Game!

Hey everyone, it's been a while I know. I'm back home in a small town in New York, and since my friends are mostly still at school, I haven't had anything interesting to post, except maybe how annoying my mom is. Well, I promised to keep posting something this summer, so here's another of my favorite movie drinking games!

Drink every time...

Someone drinks or eats
A character references sex
Someone goes in the water
Someone sings an ABBA song
You see tears
You see Glitter
You see Retro 70s outfits
Someone says “father”
Someone says “Donna”
Someone says “wedding”
Someone says “Sophie” or “Sophia”

Kings

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a while (though I'm pretty sure I have no followers so I guess it's OK) This is finals week and all, so there's my excuse. Anyway, a couple of my friends, including my roommate moved out today, so it's finally starting to hit me that this year is over, and I won't be seeing all these people for the next few months :(. Anyway, to celebrate finishing our freshman year without any disasters, we decided to have a champagne toast, and after that a few of us got together for one last game of Kings. So, I've decided to post our rules for Kings on here, in case your a beginner and have never played (and if not, I apologize, but frankly it amazes me how there are always people tragically confused by Kings).
So here's the basics, each player has a drink, and the cards are spread out in a circle in between all of the players. One player draws a card at a time and as they read each card, there are rules or challenges associated with each number to decide who drinks a sip of their drink. So here are the rules I play with.
  • Ace is waterfall. The person who drew the card begins to chug, and each person begins to chug after the person before them has started (going in a clockwise circle). Once everyone has begun to chug, the first person can stop drinking, and the person next to them can stop drinking after that and so on...
  • 2 is you. So the person picking the card picks the "you" to drink. (As in they pick someone else).
  • 3 is me. So, the person picking the card drinks.
  • 4 is floor. Each person touches the floor, and the last person to touch the floor drinks.
  • 5 is guys. Pretty self explanatory right? All guys drink.
  • 6 is chicks. Again, self explanatory.
  • 7 is heaven. Each player throws their hands in the air (reaching towards heaven, get it?) and the last person with their hands up has to drink.
  • 8 is date, or mate (same rule, different name) The person who drew the card picks another person to be their "date" for the rest of the game. From that point on, every time the picker has to drink, their date also has to drink. (Sometimes it goes both ways, so every time either person drinks, the other must drink. It's your choice!)
  • 9 is Bust a Rhyme. The card picker starts with a word or a sentence, and the rest of the players go in a circle saying phrases or words that rhyme with the original word. The first player to repeat a word, say something that doesn't rhyme, or hesitate for too long has to drink.
  • 10 is Never Have I Ever. Each player puts three fingers up, and starting with the card picker each player says something that they have never done, but they suspect other people have done. If a player has done it, they put down a finger. The first person to put all three fingers down has to drink.
  • Jack is Make A Rule. The card picker can make whatever rule they want to get others to drink.*
  • Queen is Questions. Starting with the card picker, each player asks the next person a question, going in a clockwise circle. The first person to say something that isn't a question has to drink.
  • Kings is Everyone drinks! I don't need to explain that right?

* Ideas for rules.
  • The little green man, or fairy- There is a "little green fairy" on every one's cup/can. Before they can drink they have to take the fairy off and put it on the ground, when they are finished they must put it back on the cup. If they drink without doing this, they have drink again.
  • Me, My, Mine- If a person uses any of these words they have to drink.
  • You, Your, Yours- If a person uses any of these words they have to drink.
  • Drink, Drank, Drunk- If a person uses any of these words they have to drink.
Variations on the game
  • The Kings Cup- There is a cup in the middle, and each turn the picker pours a bit of their drink into the cup, when a player pulls a King, they have to drink the whole cup.
  • The Kings Can- There is a beer can in the middle of the circle. Every time a picker pulls a card they have to slip the card under the tab of the can. When someone breaks the seal of the can they have to chug the whole thing.
  • The Ring of Fire- When someone breaks the circle, they either have to take a sip or chug their drink.

Sweeney Todd Drinking Game

All right, I confess, my friends and I are theatre people, which is not to say that we're the crazies who sing in public (not that there's anything wrong with that if you are one, which is likely if you searched Sweeney Todd Drinking Game), but we do perform, and love musical movies (Mamma Mia drinking game coming soon)!
So here's one of our favorite movie drinking games. Like Harry Potter, we eventually got drunk and distracted and never finished the movie, but we were plenty drunk enough to enjoy the rest of the night. Also, we skipped some of the dryer parts at the beginning of the movie (No Place Like London is not a fun song to drink to.)
Here it is, our rendition of the Sweeney Todd Drinking Game!

Take a drink when...

Someone starts singing a new song (or a reprise)

Song lyrics contain swear words

Someone eats or drinks

Someone is killed

Bright colors

You can see Sacha Baron Cohen’s bulge through his pants

Someone says "shave"

You see a cane

You see a razor

You see a cockroach

Someone says, "Benjamin Barker"

Now, there were a few on the website where we found this game that seemed like plausible times to drink, such as hearing the name Sweeney Todd, or Joanna. However, if you drink every time you hear the name Joanna, you would drink 19 times, just in the song Joanna. So for our poor livers sakes, we opted to take those rules out, but if you think you can handle it, feel free to try them out (though I don't recommend it!)

Anyway, enjoy the game!

Harry Potter Drinking Game

All right, this is the Harry Potter Drinking Game, which can be played with any of the movies! We played with the 6th movie (sips, no shots!) and about halfway through we decided that we were drunk enough and didn't feel like finishing the movie (that actually happens a lot for us) but I hope you have as much fun with it as we did!

Drink every time...
The full name "Harry Potter" is spoken. Extra swig if the person is addressing Harry and acting astonished while speaking.
Hermione gets angry.
Twins speak in unison.
Hagrid cries.
The word "
brilliant" is uttered.
Points are awarded to any house.
Points are taken away from any house.
Ron makes his wide-eyed, wide-mouthed "
Home Alone" expression.
Snape appears unexpectedly in a scary way.
Mrs. Norris (cat) appears.
Malfoy taunts somebody. Extra swig if he looks at his cronies for approval afterward.
An elder issues some kind of stern warning.
Dumbledore lets on that he knows some kind of secret he's too wise to talk about.
Anyone says, "chosen one"

Movie Drinking Games

So what do you do when you're not feeling up for a night out but being sober just isn't going to cut it? I have these nights all of the time, when hitting the bars or the house parties is just too much to handle. To spice up a night of dorm drinking, my friends and I love movie drinking games. Instead of shots, we make mixed drinks (usually burnetts flavored vodka and assorted sodas) and watch movies on our laptops, drinking whenever characters say certain words, or do certain actions. We pick our favorite movies and search for the drinking game ideas online, but the ones online usually include too many options, and if we followed all of their rules, we'd be dead before we could finish the movies, so we edit them ourselves.
For your convenience, I'll post some of our recent favorites (our edited, more realistic versions) on here, as well as links to the originals.
Hope you enjoy!

The end of the beginning.

Well, I am just wrapping up my freshman year at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC, and whilst sitting with my friends in the Pryz (Short for the Edward J. Pryzbla Center, a.k.a. our cafeteria) and remembering our crazy year, I decided it might be fun to start a blog. Don't worry, this isn't just going to be me talking about my drunken escapades, or boy troubles, and it certainly won't be about my emotions. This is going to be full of advice, and I don't mean budget-your-time-and-money kind of advice. This is straight up, honest and sincere advice about the things that you really want to know about. Like, what tastes good mixed with cheap vodka? How do i survive college food without going broke? How do I not get caught drinking?
From there, I'm just going to go with the flow. When I learn something new and useful, or just plain fun, I'll post about it, and hope it keeps your interest!

So here's my plan for the next couple of weeks, since I'm almost done with school for the semester. I'm going to start with a few posts about my favorite experiences from this year. Fun drinking games, places to go to in DC, a bit about the Pryz, our lovely cafeteria, and a few what-not-to-do's, which should get me to the end of the semester. For the summer, I will either take a break or update on summer experiences that may interest you, and then pick up again with the real gritty stuff in September when school starts again.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Yours Truly,
Courtney :)
